(Reuters) – Serena Williams has withdrawn from subsequent week’s U.S. Open after the American mentioned on Wednesday that her torn hamstring has not fully healed forward of the ultimate Grand Slam of the 12 months.
“After cautious consideration and following the recommendation of my docs and medical group, I’ve determined to withdraw from the U.S. Open to permit my physique to heal fully from a torn hamstring,” Williams wrote in an announcement on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CS_rgN9Lpy4.
