SANDWICH, England (Reuters) – South African Louis Oosthuizen takes a two-shot lead into the British Open third spherical which began in vibrant sunshine at Royal St George’s on Saturday.
Oosthuizen, the 2010 Open champion, carded rounds of 64 and 65 to maneuver to 11 below par, two away from American Collin Morikawa and three forward of American Jordan Spieth.
Oosthuizen and Morikawa had been resulting from tee off at 1555 native time (1445 GMT).
American world primary Dustin Johnson, his compatriot Scottie Scheffler and South African Dylan Frittelli will begin on seven below par with U.S. Open champion Jon Rahm and four-times main winner Brooks Koepka in a bunch of gamers on 5 below.
Among the many early starters, Northern Eire’s Rory McIlroy, a four-times main champion, took benefit of the benign circumstances to select up 5 birdies on the entrance 9 and transfer to 4 below par.
Bryson DeChambeau made a double-bogey six on the ninth gap and though he collected two birdies on the again 9, the long-hitting American signed for a 72 to drop again to a few over par.
