PARIS (Reuters) – Rap famous person Snoop Dogg is becoming a member of the legendary hip hop label Def Jam Recordings as government inventive and strategic advisor, the U.S. firm mentioned on Monday.
Def Jam, owned by Common Music, has been residence to a few of hip-hop’s most pioneering artists, from Public Enemy to LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys. Its present roster contains Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Kanye West.
Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, professionally generally known as Snoop Dogg, will likely be primarily based in Los Angeles and report back to Common Music Group Chairman and Chief Govt Sir Lucian Grainge and Def Jam interim Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Harleston.
As an award-winning artist, Snoop Dogg has launched 19 studio albums and offered over 30 million albums worldwide.
Snoop wouldn’t be the primary rapper to tackle an government position at Def Jam. In 2004, Jay-Z was named president and CEO of the label, however left after three years.
