WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Pop star Olivia Rodrigo, whose album “Bitter” is No. 1 on the charts, took to the rostrum on the White Home on Wednesday to encourage younger folks to get vaccinated in opposition to COVID-19.
The 18-year-old singer and actress, sporting a classic plaid Chanel go well with and towering white platform footwear with black ankle socks, made a shock look within the press briefing room.
Making a reference to Rodrigo’s track “Drivers License,” press secretary Jen Psaki launched her by saying she “traversed purple lights and cease indicators to see us.”
The White Home enlisted Rodrigo, who has hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, to assist increase lagging vaccination charges amongst youth. “It’s necessary to have conversations with family and friends members encouraging all communities to get vaccinated,” she advised reporters.
The singer had on her agenda for Wednesday a gathering with President Joe Biden and infectious illness professional Dr. Anthony Fauci in addition to a session to document movies selling vaccination.
